Verano Energy, a leading renewable energy developer in Latin America, announced that it has commenced construction of eight solar PV farms in the region. The farms, which are located in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Chile, will generate an estimated 845 megawatts of clean electricity. This is enough to power over 1.2 million homes and will help to reduce carbon emissions in the region.
Verano Energy, which is a subsidiary of Verano Holdings Corp., is a renewable energy company that is focused on developing and managing solar, wind, and geothermal energy projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. The company has already developed over 600 megawatts of renewable energy in the region and is now looking to expand its portfolio.
The eight solar PV farms are expected to be completed by the end of 2023 and will significantly increase the amount of clean energy produced in the region. The farms will be situated in some of the most remote areas of the region, providing access to clean energy to communities that have traditionally been underserved. The projects are also expected to create thousands of jobs in the region and drive economic growth.
