Quincy Cannabis Co. on Washington Street is waiting for state approval to stock its shelves and open to the public for the first time. The dispensary will offer a wide range of cannabis products, including flower, edibles, tinctures, and concentrates. Customers will be able to purchase up to one ounce of cannabis per day, with prices ranging from $10 to $25 per gram, depending on the strain.

The dispensary is expected to open to the public within the next few weeks.

The state's Cannabis Control Commission approved the acquisition of Ermont, Inc.'s assets last week, the first cannabis company to be acquired by MariMed. The acquisition will allow MariMed to expand its operations into the Massachusetts market, where Ermont has been a major player in the medical cannabis industry.

MariMed COO Timothy Shaw discussed the company's intention to acquire the Ermont, Inc. cannabis assets and roadmap for 2023. "With the acquisition of Ermont, we are positioned to become a major player in the Massachusetts cannabis market," said Shaw. "We are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality cannabis products and exceptional customer service."

A federal class action lawsuit was filed by a former employee of a cannabis dispensary company that employed workers in Quincy, alleging that the company violated federal labor laws by failing to pay overtime and other wages. The lawsuit seeks damages for the affected workers, as well as penalties for the company.

Developer wants to annex 41.3 acres west of the Quincy village limits, but Quincy Township officials are concerned it could allow for more cannabis businesses in the area. The developer has not disclosed any plans for the land, but township officials are urging caution in allowing further expansion of the cannabis industry in the area.
