Cannabis cafes are coming to California after Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill legalizing the businesses. Despite concerns about the health risks of secondhand smoke, the new law gives local California governments the authority to permit cannabis cafes to sell food and drink on their premises.

Under the new legislation, marijuana dispensaries in California will be allowed to sell food and nonalcoholic beverages, as well as host live events on their premises. Customers will have the opportunity to buy cannabis on-site at the lounges, which will also offer non-cannabis-infused foods and non-alcoholic drinks.

This move marks a significant shift in California's cannabis industry, as residents may soon be able to enjoy Amsterdam-style cannabis cafes in their local neighborhoods. Governor Newsom's approval of the bill opens the door for a new era of social consumption of marijuana in the state.

Actor Woody Harrelson, a known cannabis advocate, has been vocal in his support for the bill. He has been pushing for the legalization of marijuana cafes that offer a range of munchies and nonalcoholic drinks alongside cannabis products. The bill, which was sent to Gov. Newsom's desk last month, has now been officially signed into law.

The bill approved by the state Legislature also allows California to walk into a dispensary, light a cannabis pre-roll, and order food and drinks to enjoy on-site. This creates a unique experience for cannabis consumers, fostering a social and communal atmosphere within these establishments.

With the new law in place, California is set to become a hub for cannabis tourism, attracting visitors from across the country who wish to experience the state's vibrant cannabis culture. This development is expected to boost the state's economy and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry.
