It’s no secret that Disney Parks are home to a wide variety of treats, from popcorn and churros to Dole Whips and Mickey-shaped ice cream bars. But one of the tastiest treats to be found in the parks is the Lemon Tea Cake, available at various kiosks, carts, and quick-service restaurants throughout the park.

The Lemon Tea Cake, found at Alien Pizza Planet and Jolly Holiday Bakery Café in Disneyland Park and at the Cappuccino cart in Disney California Adventure, is a sweet, dense pound cake with a ribbon of lemon down the center, topped with lemon curd, lemon zest glaze, and a fresh slice of lemon. It’s a perfect treat for a hot summer day, and sure to be a hit with all ages.

In addition to Alien Pizza Planet and Jolly Holiday Bakery Café, the Lemon Tea Cake can be found at popcorn carts near Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Park and at kiosks, carts, and quick-service restaurants throughout the park. It’s a great way to get a quick snack without having to leave the park.

But what’s behind the perfect lemon slice on top of the Lemon Tea Cake? The answer is a man named Mr. Campis. Mr. Campis is the head baker at Alien Pizza Planet, and he’s the one responsible for the delicious treats that are served in the restaurant. He spends his days baking, cutting, and arranging the cakes, making sure each pastry has a rightful place in the truck so he can fulfill orders as quickly as possible. He almost always has a co-worker to help him, so he can quickly put together the perfect Lemon Tea Cake.

The Lemon Tea Cake is a popular item, not just in the Disney Parks, but in other places as well. In traditional dim sum eateries, servers don’t take orders, but instead walk among the tables with carts or trays. These carts or trays often include a selection of Lemon Tea Cake, or other cakes and pastries. Similarly, a new bike cart has popped up in Austin, Texas, touting vegan doughnuts and coffee. Among its offerings are the “Strawberry Cake” doughnut, made with a strawberry cake doughnut coated in a vanilla glaze, topped with a slice of lemon.

And, of course, there’s the Sweet Trolley Bakery in Miami, Florida. It was created by a man named Miguel Campis, who, coincidentally, shares the same last name as the head baker at Alien Pizza Planet. Miguel was inspired by an old ice cream cart he saw in his neighborhood, and decided to set up his own cake shop, literally naming it after the cart he’d use to transport his creations.

Whether you’re looking for a quick snack while on vacation at a Disney Park, or you’re just looking for a special treat to share with friends, the Lemon Tea Cake is a delicious option. The sweet, tart flavor of the lemon curd and lemon zest glaze, combined with the soft, dense pound cake, make this treat a perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth.
