Celebrating 10 Years of Backwoods Guitar Janette Harms and Eron Harding of Backwoods Guitar, 120 S. Osage Ave., are celebrating the store's 10th year selling and servicing guitars. The store, located in a small South Carolina town, has become a destination for guitar enthusiasts from all over the country. Ginger Billy, aka Adam Parkins, grew up and lives in the backwoods of South Carolina and has a number of self-described “trashy tattoos.” He says that he first became interested in guitar playing when he stumbled upon the store while searching for a place to buy a guitar.
Members of Concannon, a local band, have been using Backwoods Guitar since the store opened. They credit the staff and selection as the key to their success. Darrell Lampkins, the store's owner and founder, says that it's been a great experience to help the band find their sound. He also says that the store has become a sort of community center where people can come together to talk about guitar-related topics.
In addition to selling and servicing guitars, Backwoods Guitar also offers guitar lessons and workshops. The store has become the go-to spot for guitarists to learn the basics of guitar playing. From beginner classes to more advanced sessions, Backwoods Guitar has something for everyone. The store also hosts open mic nights and other events that bring local musicians together.
