Industry BOSTON (WHDH) - Zyp Run, a Black-owned business in Dorchester, is the first to offer cannabis delivery in Boston. The company was founded by two friends who wanted to bring their passion for cannabis to the community. “We talked for years about what it would be like when all of us were up and running and we could deliver their products,” said co-founder Elis Omoroghomwan.

Zyp Run offers a wide selection of cannabis products, including flower, edibles, and concentrates. Customers can place their orders online or by phone, and their products will be deliver to their door within an hour. The company also offers same-day delivery for orders placed before noon.

The launch of Zyp Run's cannabis delivery service comes at a time when the industry is experiencing major shakeups. "THERE'S ANOTHER major shakeup coming in the already-struggling marijuana delivery industry, with the impending closure of one of the largest..." reports Boston.com. As more states legalize cannabis, the industry is becoming increasingly competitive, and businesses are looking for new ways to stand out.

One of the benefits of cannabis delivery is the convenience it offers. Customers can order their products from the comfort of their own home and have them deliver straight to their door. However, some customers may be hesitant to switch to delivery services, as they may prefer the customer service they receive at brick-and-mortar dispensaries. "Does the ease of at-home delivery outweigh the customer service of a brick-and-mortar dispensary? Share your thoughts on Boston.com," the website asks.

Zyp Run is not the first business to support the cannabis industry in Massachusetts. Other businesses include delivery and social consumption. However, Zyp Run is the first to offer cannabis delivery in Boston, making it a trailblazer in the industry.

For co-founder Devin Alexander, the launch of Zyp Run is particularly meaningful. "When Devin Alexander was a senior in high school, he was arrested in Quincy for possessing a small amount of cannabis. Twelve years later..." reports Boston.com. Alexander has since become an advocate for cannabis legalization and is excited to be a part of the industry.

Zyp Run's launch also comes at a time when the industry is growing rapidly. According to a report by Business Insider, the US' best weed cities 2023 include Portland and Denver. The report also ranks Buffalo higher than Los Angeles, highlighting the growing importance of cannabis in smaller cities.

Despite the growth of the industry, there are still challenges that need to be addressed. A petition has been launched to address the two-to-one driver rule on delivery companies and bans on delivery in some municipalities. The petition argues that these rules prevent an equitable playing field for cannabis businesses.

In a recent interview with Zyp Run co-founders Elis Omoroghomwan and Gabe Vieira, the two discussed their vision for the company. They hope to expand their services to other cities in Massachusetts and eventually across the country. They also stressed the importance of providing high-quality products and excellent customer service.

Overall, Zyp Run's launch is a significant milestone for the cannabis industry in Boston. As more businesses enter the market, it will be interesting to see how the industry evolves and adapts to new challenges.
