LOS ANGELES, April 17, 2024 – PRESS RELEASE – In a landmark achievement for labor rights in the cannabis industry, United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) announced that they have reached a settlement with Eaze Technologies to avert a potential marijuana work stoppage across California on April 20th, also known as 4/20. The agreement comes after weeks of tense negotiations between the two parties over issues such as pay, benefits, and mileage reimbursements.

The UFCW represents cannabis delivery drivers and workers at Eaze and its subsidiary Stachs, who had voted overwhelmingly to unionize in order to seek better working conditions and protections. However, contract negotiations had hit a roadblock, leading to concerns about a possible strike that could disrupt cannabis deliveries across the state.

The settlement between Eaze and the UFCW comes after the company faced criticism for cutting pay for workers following their unionization. Despite initial challenges, the two sides were able to come to a tentative agreement that guarantees certain rights and protections for delivery drivers, ensuring that they will receive fair compensation for their work.

Nearly 600 delivery drivers and workers at Eaze, the largest cannabis delivery company in the nation, had been preparing to go on strike if a resolution could not be reached. However, with the new contract in place, employees can now continue to provide essential services to cannabis consumers without interruption.

The agreement between Eaze and the UFCW is seen as a significant victory for labor rights in the cannabis industry, setting a precedent for other companies to follow suit. By working together to address the concerns of workers, Eaze has shown a commitment to upholding fair labor practices and ensuring that employees are treated with respect and dignity.
